Experience Weight is an idea I got off of my old friend Dolmant. Man... That was ten years ago. Anyways, as far as my execution of it goes, the higher your ExpW is, the lower your item drops and stat and fame gains are, and your ExpW slowly drops over time. The longer you play at once, then, the less worthwhile it is to continue playing. There are several good reasons for this, a few of note being that players will be more likely to come back if there's more to experience, they're kept on an even playing field when real-world time investments aren't even, and the pacing will stay right around where I want it, which is that of a lunchbreak game. I'm still undecided about whether or not experience weight should gate content as well. I'll have more of an opinion as the game is more fully formed.
