Zero Percent Game Dev - Smaaaal laptop
I know what version control is, I just don't know how to use it. I've got Geany set up with some plugins, one of them may be Mercurial, but nothing has really changed. I just started a new project. Maybe that will make things different. I've done this for two reasons. One, so that I won't just be making broad, sweeping, potentially irreversible, highly destructive changes to the 'live' world while people are in it. I am under the impression that this would be bad. The second reason is that I don't know how reliable the internet will be at camp and I'd like the option to just code wherever. The next time I'm able I'll upload just the files that I've changed once I'm sure they're working as planned. One problem with coding without a safety net is that I won't be able to refer to the incredibly useful documentation on php.net and dev.mysql.com and hey look at that, they're downloadable. Neat!
